GASLOG Security Statement
Date: 16 Nov 2009
PURPOSE
This document comprises the wording that is displayed when users of a Silicon Controls web site access the Security Statement link displayed at the bottom of the log-on page.
SECURITY STATEMENT
Silicon Controls utilizes some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today.
When you access the Silicon Controls web site (the “Site”) using Mozilla Firefox 2.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6.0 SP2 or higher, Transport Layer Security (previously known as Secure Socket Layer or SSL) technology protects your information using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to registered users in your organization. Your data will be completely inaccessible to unauthorized viewing and/or use.
Silicon Controls provides each User in your organization with a unique user name and password that must be entered each time a User logs on. The logon process is always protected with Transport Layer Security to prevent unauthorized interception of user credentials. Silicon Controls then issues an encrypted session cookie for use during the remainder of the session. The session cookie does not include the credentials of the user, and cannot be used outside the current session.
In addition, the Site is hosted in a secure server environment that uses firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders.
